The initiative, promoted by RomaCultura.it and from Artists Beyond Borders, takes its cue from Claudia Patruno's sensitivity, one of the promoters and creators of the magazine RomaCultura.it, towards Cultures and wants to promote the
knowledge of cultural multiplicity through images and words drawn on a small space.
The theme proposed for this year, in the context of "Culture of Cultures", is:
Walls and ditches, fords and bridges
To break down walls and bridge ditches, create fords and build bridges between cultures for global knowledge, overcoming mistrust and diversity.
Culture is not only knowledge of other cultures: it is progress in dialogue, overcoming obstacles, to achieve a common future and not barricaded on individualistic and closed positions on limited learning.
Art as science has found inspiration and new horizons by looking beyond its borders, exchanging ideas and proposing themes and procedures.
Each work must not offend other people or cultures and must not incite hatred, discrimination and
violence.
Everyone can participate, not only painters, sculptors, photographers, writers, but also employees, peasants and workers, from 18 years and beyond.
- Dimensions of the works / postcards are 10 x 15 or 15 x 21 cm.
- Free technique (watercolor, painting, drawing, collage, photography, writing, etc.).
- They can be made with images and / or writing, in color or in black and white.
- Maximum two works for each individual artist.
- Deadline: the works must be received by 20 September 2020.
- Each work must have its release form and sent by e-mail to: info@romacultura.it together with:
1. participant's personal data (name, surname, postal address, e-mail address)
2. indication of the ONLUS to which, in case of victory of the participant, a contribution will be paid of € 500,00
The works / postcards must be sent to Hochfeiler, via Nerola 20 - 00199 Rome.
The submitted works will not be returned and will not be used for profit; will remain the property of the magazine RomaCultura.it (Hochfeiler), without prejudice to the author's quotation in any case of publication in any format (paper, digital) and in any channel (DVD, Video etc.) for any publications or other projects, even subsequent to the initiative.
The regularly received works will be submitted to the judgment of a specific Commission which, at its sole discretion judgment, will choose the winning work. Its author will receive a diploma of merit and a medal, which they can be picked up by the winner or sent to the address indicated on the postcard.
The non-profit organization chosen by the winner will benefit from a contribution of Euro 500,00 for solidarity projects, in memory of Claudia Patruno.
It is necessary that the non-profit organization chooses to be European with its headquarters in Italy or Europe to facilitate the practices of the transfer.
For a use consistent with the purposes of the competition, in compliance with current legislation on the processing of personal data, Participants must complete and sign the Privacy and Disclaimer Form.
